Day 1: Transfer to Cairo and Guided Pyramids Tour
On the day that your overnight trip to Cairo from Port Said Port is due to begin, your guide will meet you at the port exit gate holding up a sign with your name written on it. After you have met each other, you will then begin the drive to Cairo a journey which takes roughly 3 hours on average.
When You Reach Cairo you will head directly to the ancient Giza Necropolis to see some of the world’s most famous ancient monuments: the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, The iconic statue of a lion with the head of a human, which is believed to be a depiction of pharaoh Khafre.

Once you enter the site you will visit the Great Pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu; the Pyramid of Pharaoh Khafre, and the Pyramid of Pharaoh Menkaura, which is the smallest of the three pyramids. While you are at the site you will also visit the Valley Temple which belonged to Pharaoh Khafre. The temple of constructed to serve as a mortuary temple, both for the pharaoh and his family members.
After visiting the three pyramids and the temple you will then walk to the Great Sphinx. Alternatively, you can get from the pyramids to the Sphinx by way of a camel ride, but the cost of a camel ride is not included in the price of our overnight trip to Cairo from Port Said Port.
Following your tour of the Giza Necropolis, you will then be taken to a good quality local restaurant to enjoy some lunch. After lunch you will drive to Saqqara where you will visit another ancient necropolis which is home to the Great Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djozer. This was the very first pyramid ever constructed by the ancient Egyptians. It is also the oldest man-made major stone structure in the world.

Enjoy your tour at Saqqara and then you will be taken to check in at a five-star hotel. Once you have checked in you will be left on your own to enjoy the remainder of the day and evening as you wish.

Day 2: Egyptian Museum, Salah Din Citadel Tour, and Transfer to Port Said Port
Begin your day with an excellent breakfast at your hotel and shortly after that your guide will arrive and assist you with check-out, after which you will make your way to downtown Cairo to visit the famous Egyptian Museum. This remarkable museum is known for housing the world’s largest collection of Egyptian artifacts. However, many of the artifacts have since been transferred to the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza. Nonetheless, there are still more than 120, 000 artifacts and relics on display at the museum.

After your tour of the museum, you will then be taken for lunch at a good local restaurant. Enjoy your meal, and then you will make your way to the imposing centuries-old Salah Din Citadel to see the splendid Muhammad Ali Alabaster Mosque. It is known as the Alabaster Mosque because of the marble that covers its interior and exterior walls. The mosque was built For Muhammad Ali who ruled Egypt for 45 years, and is now buried in his tomb that is located inside the mosque.

If there is sufficient time after your visit to the citadel, you will then drive to an area of the city known as Islamic Cairo where you will visit the centuries-old Khan el Khalili Bazaar. This vast market and its many treasure filled lanes and alleys is the ideal place to pick up some souvenirs before heading back to your cruise ship in Port Said Port.
After your visit to the bazaar you will be driven back to Port Said. On arrival, you will drive directly to Port Said Port where you will be dropped off at the entrance gate. Your two day tour to Cairo from Port Said Port has now come to an end, but you will be boarding your cruise ship with memories you’re not likely to ever forget.
