Luxor Day Trip Itinerary
Your Luxor day trip from Hurghada begins at around 05h30. This is when your guide and driver will collect you from your hotel in Hurghada. You will then be driven to Luxor in one of our clean and modern air-conditioned vehicles. Free bottled water is available in the vehicle.
When you reach your destination, your Luxor day trip from Hurghada really gets underway.
Your first stop with be at Karnak Temple. This vast temple complex was originally called Ipet-Isut which means “the most sacred of places.” Generation after generation of pharaohs added to the original complex. This continued for more than 2,000. It is believed to be the biggest place of worship ever built. Although only ruins remain, there is still so much to see, including the Hypostyle Hall which is like a forest of massive stone pillars. Karnak is today the second-most visited ancient site in Egypt after the pyramids.

After you have finished exploring the Karnak Temple complex, you will be taken for some lunch at a good local restaurant. This is included in the price of our Luxor day trip from Hurghada. After you have finished your meal, you will then move to the Luxor West Bank to see three more exceptional sites.
First, you will be taken to see two giant statues of Amenhotep III which are today known as the Colossi of Memnon.
After the Colossi of Memnon, you will then visit Valley of the Kings. No Luxor trip from Hurghada would be complete with a visit to this ancient royal necropolis. This is where many New Kingdom pharaohs were laid to rest in tombs. Other than royalty, some other high profile members of society were also entombed here.

Several of the tombs are open to the public. However, some of those which are open to the public have been classified as “special” tombs, and separate admission need to be purchased if you wish to see inside them. For example, the tomb of King Tutankhamen has been designated as a “special” tomb, and tourists are required to buy tickets for this tomb in person at the site. Our Luxor day trip from Hurghada includes admission for three tombs, but it does not include admission to any of the “special” tombs.

The last site you will visit during your Luxor day trip from Hurghada, will be the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This is a huge terraced complex that was carved out of rock. It is one of Egypt’s most famous and most visited ancient monuments. Interestingly, this vast rock-cut temple was created and decorated by the same workers and craftsmen that constructed and decorated many of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings.

After you have finished exploring Hatshepsut Temple, you will return to your vehicle, and then you will head into town. Enjoy some time for shopping in Luxor’s famous bazaars, or visit a café for some coffee or other refreshments.
At the appropriate time, you again return to your vehicle, and then you will be able to relax while traveling back to Hurghada. Hurghada is about 285 kilometers from Luxor. Once you arrive in Hurghada, you will be driven directly to your hotel, and then your Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada will be over.
