5-Day Sinai Trek – Mountains, Desert & Monasteries

We’ll meet you at Sharm El Sheikh airport and transport you to Saint Catherine town, a serene destination steeped in history and surrounded by stunning natural landscapes.

Your first evening will be spent at our traditional Bedouin camp nestled at the mountain’s base, complete with expansive gardens. We’ll serve dinner as you settle into this peaceful desert setting.

Following breakfast, we’ll embark on a three-hour trek through the spectacular Nakab Abo Jifa Valley, where you’ll walk among flourishing gardens filled with olive, fig, and pomegranate trees. After a midday lunch break, we’ll continue for two additional hours to reach the Wadi Zawatine camp (Om Saad’s bivouac), hosted by a welcoming Bedouin woman. Your evening concludes with dinner and sleeping beneath the brilliant desert stars.

We’ll begin with a challenging three-hour ascent to Mount Serbal, known locally as the Mount of Blessing or Black Mountain – Egypt’s highest peak.

After lunch and rest, we’ll take a refreshing two-hour walk to Wadi al Shag, where you’ll have the opportunity to swim in a pristine natural pool. Another magical evening awaits at the bivouac with dinner under the endless desert sky.

Today’s four-hour trek leads to Mount Saint Catherine’s summit, home to a historic chapel and monastery treasures dating to before the 8th century. Following lunch, we’ll continue with a two-hour afternoon walk to Wadi Al Arbaine (Valley of the 40 Martyrs). Your final evening in the wilderness includes dinner and overnight camping surrounded by the desert’s profound silence.

After breakfast, we’ll visit the renowned Saint Catherine Monastery, a remarkable 3rd-century Byzantine Greek Orthodox Christian center.

Later, you’ll ascend Mount Sinai to witness a breathtaking sunset over this sacred mountain, revered by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. We’ll return to your accommodation to complete this transformative journey.
