DAY 1: Welcome to Cairo

Welcome to Cairo, Egypt’s bustling capital city. When you arrive at Cairo International Airport for your 15-day long discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia tour, one of our tour representatives will be standing by to meet and greet you and to transfer you to the hotel where you will be staying during your time in Cairo.

When you get to your hotel you will be assisted with check-in and then your tour manager will go over your itinerary with you and confirm pick up times for your upcoming tours. After this you will have the rest of the day free to enjoy as your wish.

DAY 2: Giza Pyramids and the New Grand Egyptian Museum

Today, your “discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia tour” fully unfolds. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off for the Giza Plateau. Here, you’ll begin your adventure by taking in the awe-inspiring Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. While exploring the Plateau, you’ll also have the chance to visit the iconic Sphinx and the Valley Temple.

After your time at the pyramids, savor a traditional Egyptian lunch at a nearby restaurant. Next, proceed to the New Grand Egyptian Museum, or Giza Museum, an impressive archaeological attraction situated about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Giza Pyramids.

Enjoy some time exploring its many meandering treasure filled lanes and alleys, and then it will be time for you to be transferred back to your hotel where you will be spending this night of your discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia tour.

DAY 3: Flight to Luxor, Nile Cruise Embarkation and East Bank Sightseeing

After enjoying an early breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and then you will be transferred to the airport to board a short domestic flight to Luxor. On arrival at the airport in Luxor you will be met by one of our tour representatives and you will be transferred to the port area where you will be boarding your luxurious five star Nile River cruise.

Shortly after you board the cruise ship you will get to enjoy a mouth-watering lunch and then your guide will accompany you and the other members in your group to visit two spectacular sites on the east bank of the Nile River.

Your first stop will be at the sprawling Karnak Temple complex that was constructed over a period of more than 2,000 years. To this day, it remains the largest place of worship ever constructed by mankind. Your next stop will be at the well-preserved Luxor Temple which is another UNESCO world heritage listed site.

After your tour of the east bank you will then return to your noNile cruise ship and you will have some free time for yourself before enjoying a scrumptious dinner in the evening. This night of your 15-day “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tour” will be spent on the water in Luxor.

DAY 4: Luxor West Bank and Cruise to Edfu

Enjoy a delicious breakfast on your Nile cruise ship and then your guide will accompany you and the other members in your group to three spectacular sites on the west bank of the Nile River. Your first stop will be at the Valley of the Kings which is an ancient royal burial ground where more than 60 tombs have been discovered, including the famous tomb of King Tutankhamun.

Our “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tours” package includes admission to some, but not all of the tombs. To enter some of the more “special’ tombs visitors are required to purchase additional tickets in person at the site.

Your next stop will be at the truly spectacular Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Considered to be one of Egypt’s “incomparable ancient Egyptian monuments”, the temple was built during the reign  of Queen Hatshepsut, the only true Egyptian female ruler.

After visiting the temple you will then have a brief stop at the Colossi of Memnon before heading back to your cruise ship. At the stipulated time, your cruise ship will start sailing towards Edfu. Enjoy a delicious lunch and then you will have the rest of the day to yourself to enjoy as you wish.

A scrumptious dinner will be served in the evening, and you will spend this night of your “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tour” package on the water at Edfu.

DAY 5: Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple and Cruise to Aswan

Enjoy a good breakfast on the cruise ship and then your tour guide will accompany you and the other members of your group on a visit to Egypt’s best preserved ancient temple, the Temple of Horus. This temple’s remarkable state of preservation is due to the fact that it became buried beneath the desert sands and remained that way for more than 2,000 years.

Following your visit to the temple you will return to your Nile cruise ship and it will then start sailing to Kom Ombo. On arrival, you will once again enjoy another guided excursion, this time to the extremely unique twin temple complex of Kom Ombo. Kom Ombo Temple is essentially two identical temples that would dedicated to two different gods: Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the falcon headed god

After your visit to this incredibly unique ancient temple you will then return to your Nile cruise ship and you will sail to Aswan, with a delicious lunch being served along the way. There are no excursions scheduled for this afternoon, so once you have finished your lunch, you will have the remainder of the day free to enjoy as you wish. Enjoy this night of your “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tour” on the quiet waters of the Nile at Aswan.

DAY 6: Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple

Begin your day with a good breakfast on the river and then your guide will accompany you and the other members of your group on a visit to three popular local attractions. Your first stop will be at the ancient stone quarries to see the Unfinished Obelisk. Had this obelisk been completed, it would have been the biggest obelisk ever created. However, the appearance of a crack resulted in the project being abandoned.

Your next stop will be at the truly magnificent ancient Temple of Philae. This temple was moved in its entirety from its original location to its current location on higher ground. Had it not been moved it would have been lost to the rising waters of Lake Nasser when the Aswan High Dam was built.

Spend some time at the temple and then you will make your way back to your cruise ship in time to enjoy another excellent lunch. There are no other excursions scheduled for today so you will have the entire afternoon to yourself to enjoy as you wish. This night of your “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tour” will once again be spent on the quiet waters of the Nile River at Aswan.

DAY 7: Cruise Disembarkation and Return to Cairo

Shortly after you have enjoyed your breakfast it will be time to check out and disembark so that you can be transferred to the airport to board a short domestic flight to Cairo. On arrival at the airport in Cairo you will be met by your tour manager and you’ll be transferred to the hotel where you’ll be spending your final night in Egypt.

You can either have the remainder of the day free to enjoy as you wish, or you can join an optional group tour by coach to Abu Simbel to see the magnificent rock cut temples of Ramses.

DAY 8: Fly to Riyadh

The next phase of your “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tour” begins today. Enjoy a good hotel breakfast and then at the appropriate time your tour manager will arrive, and you will need to check out so that we can drive you to the airport in time for you to board your flight to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

When you land in Riyadh one of our tour representatives will be standing by to meet and greet, you and to escort you to the hotel where you will be staying. On arrival at the hotel you will be assisted with check-in and pick up times for your upcoming tours will be confirmed with you. You will then have the rest of the day free to enjoy as you wish.

DAY 9: Riyadh Sightseeing Day Tour

Enjoy a good breakfast at your hotel, and then at the time which will have been confirmed with you, you will be picked up for a full day of sightseeing. Your first stop today will be at Diriyyah, a world heritage listed site located on the outskirts of Riyadh. Diriyyah is considered to be the birthplace of the first Saudi state and is today home to the Saudi royal family.

The mud brick walls which you’ll see when you visit the site once fortified the city at a time when it was an important commercial and cultural hub. The city was declared the capital in 1745, and this essentially laid the foundations for what is today a unified Saudi Arabia.

Next, enjoy a leisurely walk through the Old Town to admire its many ancient ruins, including what was once an absolutely splendid palace. From here you will continue on to Riyadh’s Old Quarter to see the Masmak Fort. This impressive fortress was built in 1895 A.D. during the reign of Abdullah bin Rashid. After your visit to the fort you will then head to the Dirah Souq, a market which is renowned for its colorful and high quality textiles. Spend some time exploring the market and then you’ll be taken to a good quality authentic Saudi Arabian restaurant for some lunch.

After lunch you will then visit the National Museum which is not only a national treasure, but also a UNESCO world heritage site. The museum’s 8 galleries tell the complete story of Saudi Arabia’s rich and fascinating history, beginning with the creation of the universe all the way up to the modern era.

Next, you will make your way to Murabba Palace which was built in 1937 by King Abdul Aziz. The Palace was built to serve as a family dwelling, and along with the main palace, there are also several smaller palaces, service buildings, and the Royal Diwan. This is your last stop of the day so once you’re done here you will then be transferred back to your hotel where you will be spending this night of your “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tour” package.

DAY 10: Fly to Al-Ula and Al-Ula Sightseeing

Shortly after you have enjoyed breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and you will be transferred to the airport to board a short domestic flight to Al-Ula. When you arrive at the airport in Al-Ula, you will again be met, and then your Al-Ula day tour will begin.

Your first stop of the day will be at Madain Saleh, a UNESCO world heritage listed site. During ancient times, the city was known as Al Hegra and it was the southernmost settlement of the Nabatean Kingdom. It was also a major stopover point on what was once a very prosperous trade route. Covering an area of approximately 2,000 meters, the site today is best known for its s many ancient relics and rock-cut tombs. During your visit you will visit some of the most popular attractions, including Al Farid Palace, Qasr Al Bint, Diwan Tomb, Nabatean Well, and a very well preserved railway station.

After you have finished exploring Madain Saleh, you will then be taken to a good authentic Saudi Arabian restaurant for some lunch. If there is enough time left after lunch you will make your way to Harrat Uairedh which is the town’s highest point. Enjoy some Arabic tea or coffee and some dates while at the same time enjoying absolutely breathtaking panoramic views of your surroundings.

After a wonderful day of sightseeing, you will then be driven to the hotel where you will be spending this night of your “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tour” package.

DAY 11: Al-Ula Full Day Sightseeing Tour

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then your guide will meet you and you will be taken to visit Dadan and Jabal Ikmah, both of which are world heritage listed sites. Dadan was the capital of the Dadan and Lihyan kingdoms, while Jabal Ikmah is today most often described as a massive open air museum that is renowned for its vast amount of varied inscriptions.

Dadan is also home to more than 10 ancient rock cut tombs with the most famous being the “Lions Tombs. These seated lion sculptures mark the burial sites of those who were once elite members of society.

Next, you will visit the Old Town where you will enjoy a liesurely stroll through the oasis and some farms. During your walk you will also meet up with a local family to enjoy some tea before visiting the area’s iconic Elephant Rock.

This will be your last stop of the day before heading back to your hotel where you will be spending this night of your “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tour” package.

DAY 12: Transfer from Al-Ula to Jeddah by Air

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then at the appropriate time you will need to check out so that we can drive you to the airport in time for you to board a short domestic flight to Jeddah. On arrival at the airport in Jeddah, one of our tour representatives will be standing by to meet and greet you and to transfer you to the hotel where you will be spending the next two nights of your “Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tour” package.

Our tour representative will assist you with check in and then go over your tour itinerary with you and confirm pick up times for your upcoming tours in Jeddah. After this you’ll be left on your own to enjoy the rest of the day as you wish.

DAY 13: Madinah Sightseeing Tour

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then you will be picked up and you will be driven to the train station to board a high-speed train to Madinah. With a maximum speed of 300 km/h, this journey takes roughly 2 hours.

When you arrive at the train station in Madinah, your private English speaking guide will meet you and then escort you on a sightseeing tour. During your tour you will visit the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization. You will also visit Qiba Street which connects two mosques: the Holy Mosque and the Qiba Mosque.

Next, you will visit Souq Taiba, and then you will be taken to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the area’s five star hotels that overlook the beautiful Prophet Mohamed Mosque. Non-Muslims are not permitted to enter the mosque but you will still be able to admire it from the outside.

After lunch you will be driven to the train station where you will once again board a high-speed train, this time back to Jeddah. On arrival at the station in Jeddah you will be met and then you will immediately be transferred to your hotel.

DAY 14: Jeddah Sightseeing Tour

After you have enjoyed breakfast at your hotel you will once again be picked up and then you will visit the privately owned Tayebat Museum. The museum, which is spread out over four floors, is home to several impressive displays, including pre-Islamic artifacts, weaponry, old coins, beautiful Islamic manuscripts, furniture, pottery, and even traditional Saudi Arabian clothes.

Next, you will visit the Jeddah Open Air Museum which is located on a very picturesque area on the new corniche. This fascinating museum is home to one of the largest collection of models. From here you will be taken to see the “floating mosque” which appears to be floating on the surface of some nearby water.

Enjoy a short break at this site to take in absolutely stunning views of the Red Sea, and then you will make your way to King Fahd’s Fountain which is also known as the Jeddah Fountain. It is the tallest fountain of its kind in the world, propelling water from the Red Sea 300 meters into the air at speeds of over 300 km/ h.

After your visit to the fountain you will then make your way to Al-Balad (Old Town) to see some old original Ottoman houses that were made from coral and reinforced with wooden beams. The most beautiful of these houses is Nasif House Which was built in the 1950s by the Nasif Family who were the most influential traders in the history of Jeddah.

DAY 15: Discover Egypt and Saudi Arabia Tours End

Enjoy one last breakfast at your hotel, and then at the appropriate time our tour representative will meet you and assist you with check out, and then transfer you to the airport in time for you to board your flight out of Saudi Arabia.
