4-Day Sonesta St George Cruise

Day 1: Embarkation at Aswan and Aswan Sightseeing

When you arrive in Aswan for your 4-Day Aswan to Luxor Nile cruise, one of our tour managers will be waiting for you. After a warm and friendly greeting, they will escort you in a modern air-conditioned vehicle to the place where you will be boarding the 5-Star Sonesta St George Nile River Cruise.

After you have checked in and you have had some time to settle down, a lovely onboard lunch will be served in the boat’s tastefully decorated dining area.

After lunch, you will disembark, and you will begin your sightseeing tour of Aswan, accompanied by a certified and very knowledgeable English speaking tour guide.

Your first visit will be to the Aswan High Dam, followed by a visit to the vast granite quarries that served such a crucial role during Egypt’s ancient past.

Finally, you will be taken to visit the spectacular Philae Temple which today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After your sightseeing tour, you will return the cruise liner where you will be served a good afternoon tea, followed by a fine dinner in the evening. Shortly after dinner, the boat will host an enjoyable Nubian folkloric show, and then it will be time for you to relax out on deck, or retire to your elegantly styled cabin for a good night’s sleep on the water in Aswan.

Day 2: Transit to Kom Ombo, Edfu, and on to Esna

An early departure from Aswan will see you being served a lovely breakfast on the water as your boat sails towards Kom Ombo. On arrival at Kom Ombo, you will tie up, and you will be taken to visit the spectacular Kom Ombo Temple which was constructed thousands of years ago to honor the mythical Egyptian gods, Sobek and Haeroris.

Return to the Sonesta St. George after Kom Ombo Temple, and enjoy a delicious lunch while sailing to Edfu where you will once again enjoy another interesting excursion, this time to the ancient Temple of Horus. You will then return to the boat for the onward journey to Esna, enjoying afternoon tea along the way.

On arrival, or shortly after arrival in Esna, a fine onboard dinner will be served, followed by a fun-filled Egyptian Galabeya Party a little bit later in the evening. This night will be spent in the comfort of your cabin, on the quiet water at Esna.

Day 3: Transit to Luxor, and Luxor Sightseeing

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast onboard while the Sonesta St. George sails to Luxor.

On arrival in Luxor, you will disembark, and you will be taken to visit some of the area’s most renowned ancient attractions, including the infamous Valley of Kings where Sir Howard Carter discovered the tomb of King Tutankhamen.

You will also be taken to explore the breathtaking rock-cut Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which will be followed by a visit to the fascinating Colossi of Memnon.

With a morning full of sightseeing behind you, you will return to your cruise liner for another delicious onboard lunch. Spend some time relaxing onboard, and then enjoy some afternoon tea, followed by an authentic and very enjoyable Egyptian Belly Dance show.

In the evening you will be served another fine dinner, and then you will be free to spend the rest of the evening as you wish. Head out on deck and relax under the stars; enjoy a few drinks in the bar, or dance the night away in the lively onboard disco. Tonight will be spent on the water in Luxor.

Day 4: Disembarkation and Luxor East Bank Sightseeing

Today will once again begin with a hearty onboard breakfast, followed by a fascinating excursion to Luxor’s East Bank where you will be taken to visit the incredibly vast Karnak Temple complex. Karnak was once a sprawling complex that underwent continuous expansion that lasted for around 2,000 years.

Next will be a visit to the beautifully well-preserved Luxor Temple, and then, unfortunately, it will be time for final goodbyes.

Once again, one of our friendly tour managers will be there to meet you, and to escort you to the airport or railway station in a modern air-conditioned vehicle.

  • Pre-Arrival and Post-Departure Travel – Tour price does not include travel to Aswan or onward travel from Luxor.
  • Tipping – Tour price does not include money for tipping guides, waitresses, waiters, and etc. Tipping is not required or expected, but always appreciated if you feel it is well-deserved.
