5-Day Luxor to Aswan Dahabiya Nile Cruise [Nuut or Nuun]

Day 1: Karnak, Valley of Kings, and Cruise Embarkation

One of our tour representatives/guides and a driver will meet you at Luxor Airport in the morning when you arrive for your 5-day Luxor to Aswan Dahabiya Nile cruise. They then take you to see the famous Karnak Temple complex. This complex was built over a period of more than 2,500 years. It is considered to be Egypt’s second-most visited site, along with a number of other ancient sites.

After Karnak, you will cross over to the West Bank, and your will be taken to visit the Valley of Kings. This is where royalty and other nobility were entombed during the New Kingdom era. Unfortunately, most of the tombs were robbed in antiquity. Tutankhamen’s tomb, on the other hand, was found sealed and intact.

Shortly before midday, you will be taken to board the Nuut or Nuun Dahabiya for your cruise. Enjoy a nice lunch on board the vessel and a leisurely cruise towards Esna. Just before you reach the Esna Lock, your Dahabiya will drop anchor at El Hegz Island. The first night of your Luxor to Aswan Dahabiya Nile cruise will be spend on the water near the island.

Day 2: El Kab and Edfu Excursions, with Overnight near Sheikh Rehan Island

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast while your Dahabiya is passing through the Esna Lock. It will then continue sailing to El Kab. When you get there, your Expert guide will take you to see some ancient walls of an unknown city; an ancient temple, and some ancient rock-cut tombs. These tombs are all from the New Kingdom era.

Once you get back on board your Dahabiya, it will sail to Edfu with lunch being served along the way. When you arrive at Edfu your guide will take you to see Edfu Temple, Egypt’s best preserved ancient cult temple.
Following your visit to the temple, your Dahabiya will then sail slowly towards Sheikh Rehan Island.

This is very scenic part of your cruise to allow passengers to observe farmers and fishermen going about their lives on the banks of the Nile while you sail past miles and miles of lush green landscape. Just before the sun goes down your Dahabiya will drop anchor near Sheikh Rehan Island. This is where you will spend the second night of your Luxor to Aswan Dahabiya Nile cruise.

Day 3: Leisure Cruise and Gebel Silsela Tour

Enjoy your breakfast and a wonderfully relaxing morning while sailing to Gebel Silsela. After lunch, your guide will take you ashore to see the ancient Pharaonic quarries of Silsela and the unknown rock-cut Temple of Hormoheb. Nearly all of Egypt’s great temples were made from sandstone that was quarried from the Silsela quarries.

Before you head back to the Dahabiya, you will also make your way to the top of the mount to enjoy some breathtaking views.

Once back on board your Dahabiya, it will set sail for Al Bashir Island. Enjoy a BBQ dinner at the edge of the island and another good sleep on the quiet waters of the Nile.

Day 4: Kom Ombo Temple and Sail to Aswan

Today you will be served breakfast while sailing to Kom Ombo. When you arrive, your guide will take you to see Kom Ombo Temple, also known as the Temple of Haroeris and Sobek. This complex is actually a double temple. It was dedicated to both these gods, and it is the only one of its kind in Egypt.

Once back on board your Dahabiya, the remainder of the day will be spent sailing to Aswan. The last night of your Luxor to Aswan Dahabiya Nile cruise will be spent on the water in Aswan.

Day 5: Cruise Disembarkation, Philae Temple, and Departure

Enjoy breakfast on the Nuut or Nuun Dahabiya and then it will be time to check out and disembark. After disembarkation, you will be taken to the ancient Temple of Philae. After visiting the temple, your Luxor to Aswan Dahabiya Nile cruise itinerary ends, so we will then drive you to the airport in Aswan for your journey home via Cairo.
