ITINERARY

On the morning your Cairo and Pyramids tour from Sokhna Port is due to begin, you can use the free shuttle bus to get from your ship to the port’s main gate. After you have met up with your guide you will then start driving to Cairo, a journey which takes approximately one and a half hours.

When you reach Cairo you will head directly to the ancient Giza Necropolis. Upon entering the site you will visit the three legendary pyramids: the Pyramid of Cheops, the Pyramid of Chephren and the Pyramid of Mykerinus. You will also visit the Valley Temple, a mortuary temple that belonged to Pharaoh Chephren.

Next, you will walk to the Great Sphinx which is only a short distance away from the pyramids. You can also opt to get to the Sphinx by way of a camel ride but this is not included in the price of our Cairo and Pyramids tour from Sokhna Port.

Following your pyramids tour, you will then head to a good quality local restaurant for some lunch. After lunch you’ll be taken to visit the world famous Egyptian Museum in the heart of downtown Cairo. With more than 120,000 artifacts and relics on display, you can be sure that there is plenty to see in this truly spectacular museum. Of course, your guide will be with you to answer any and all questions you may have while you are touring the museum.

When you are finished at the museum you will then drive to an area of the city known as Islamic Cairo. Here you will visit the bustling Khan el Khalili Bazaar which has been around since the late 14th century. It is one of the biggest and oldest markets in the entire Middle East, with an almost endless number of lanes and alleys filled with shops and stalls selling a massive variety of goods. It’s a great place to get your hands on some affordable souvenirs before you return to your cruise ship. After spending some time at the market you will then be driven back to Sokhna Port where you will be dropped off at the main gate.
