Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrive in Cairo for your Luxury Dahabiya on the Nile Experience

When your plane lands at Cairo International Airport, your tour manager and one of our drivers will already be there waiting for you. Your tour manager will welcome you are provide with your entry visa for Egypt, and then you will be driven to the 5-Star hotel where you will be staying while you are in Cairo

On arrival at the hotel, you will be assisted with check-in, and then your tour manager will discuss you tour itinerary with you and confirm pick-up times for your tours, and then you will be left alone to enjoy the rest of the day as you wish.

DAY 2 – Giza, Saqqara and Memphis Tour

At the confirmed time, your Expert guide and a driver will collect you and you will head off to the Giza to see the fabled Giza Pyramids; the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. There is also a small museum on the site called the Solar Boat Museum which houses a reconstructed Pharonic solar boat. However, your Dahabiya on the Nile tour package does not include a ticket for the museum, although one can be purchase on site.

After your tour of the pyramids you will then be taken to a good local restaurant for lunch, and from there you will drive to the ancient Saqqara necropolis to see the Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser which was the very first pyramid built by the ancient Egyptians.

Next, you will drive to Memphis which served as the capital city during the Old Kingdom era. The entire area is today an open-air museum, and although not much remains of the original city, there is still a lot to see.

Finally, after a long day out, you will be driven back to your hotel in Cairo.

DAY 3 – Cairo Sightseeing and Transfer to Luxor

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then it will be time for you to check out, after which you will be taken to visit the famous Egyptian Museum and its amazing Treasures Room which houses a permanent exhibition of all the artifacts that were discovered inside the tomb of King Tutankhamen in the Valley of Kings in Luxor. The museum also has a specially equipped Mummies Room with some real mummies on display, but a separate ticket is required.

Because quite a lot of people prefer not to view mummies, a ticket for the Mummies Room is not included in the price of our Dahabiya on the Nile tour packages.

Following your visit to the museum, you will once again be taken for lunch, and then you will head to Islamic Cairo where you will visit the city’s centuries-old Khan el Khalili Bazaar which is always a big hit with tourists. After enjoy some time exploring the bazaar, you will then be transferred to the airport and you will board a short flight to Luxor.

When you land in Luxor, another one of our tour managers and a driver will be there waiting for you, and then you will be transferred to the hotel where you will be staying for this of your Dahabiya on the Nile vacation.

DAY 4 – Luxor Sightseeing and Dahabiya Cruise Embarkation at Esna

Shortly after breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and you will be taken to see the vast Karnak Temple complex located on the East Bank of Luxor. Enjoy some time exploring this incredible site, and then you will head to the West Bank to visit Valley of the Kings; an ancient royal burial ground consisting of more than 60 tombs, including the tomb of King Tutankhamen.

Next, you will be driven to the dock where you will be boarding the beautiful Nebyt Dahabiya which is so often described as the golden pearl of the Nile. The vessel will depart for Esna shortly after boarding and you will have the remainder of the day to yourself.

DAY 5 – El Kab Temple, Edfu Temple and Overnight at El Fawaza Island

Enjoy a good breakfast aboard the Dahabiya on the Nile, and then your Dahabiya will sail to El Kab Temple. On arrival your guide will take you to see Ek Kab Temple as well as some ancient walls and tombs dating back to the New Kingdom era. After visiting these sites, you will return to the vessel and it will start sailing silently towards Edfu, and a good lunch served along the way.

When you reach Edfu, you tour guide will accompany you on another excursion, this time to see the remarkable Temple of Horus which is Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temple. Following your tour of the temple, you will once again board your Dahabiya, and it will sail towards Sheikh Rehan Island. Enjoy another good dinner and a peaceful night’s rest aboard the Dahabiya on the Nile River near the island.

DAY 6 – Gebel el-Silsila and Overnight at Beshir Island

Enjoy your breakfast aboard the Dahabiya on the Nile River while sailing to Gebel el-Silsila where you will enjoy another fascinating excursion after you have had lunch. After your visit to Gebel el-Silsila, your Dahabiya will then sail to Beshir Island where it will dock for the night. Enjoy a delicious BBQ and another quiet relaxing night on the water.

DAY 7 – Kom Ombo Temple and Cruise to Aswan

Enjoy a lovely relaxing breakfast aboard your Dahabiya on the Nile while you are sailing to Kom Ombo. On arrival at Kom Ombo, your guide will accompany you on another excursion, this time to visit the fascinating twin temples of Kom Ombo that were dedicated to two gods: Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the falcon-headed god.

After your tour of the temples, you will return to the Dahabiya and it will sail to Aswan. Spend this night relaxing on the Dahabiya on the Nile near Aswan Bridge.

DAY 8 – Final Departure

Enjoy one last breakfast aboard the Dahabiya on the Nile River, and then it will be time for check out and disembarkation, after which you will be driven to Aswan Airport to board a flight back to Cairo. When you land in Cairo, your tour manager will be there to meet you at Domestic Arrivals, and to escort you to International Departures in time for you to board your flight back home.
