8-Day Luxury Small Boat Nile Cruise and Cairo Highlights Tour

DAY 1 – Arrive in Cairo for your Luxury Small Boat Nile Cruise

Your tour manager and one of our drivers will meet and assist you at Cairo International Airport when you arrive for your Cairo tour and your luxury small boat Nile cruise break, and they will then transfer you to the 5-Star hotel where you will be staying while you are in Cairo.

When you get to the hotel, your tour manager will ensure a smooth check-in and then confirm a pick-up time for the following day’s tour. After this, you will be left on your own to enjoy the rest of your day as you wish.

DAY 2 – Giza Pyramids Tour and Saqqara Tour

With this expertly created Egypt itinerary, 8 days is going to let you see so many incredible attractions, and the fun starts today shortly after you have had your breakfast. First, you will head to the ancient Giza necropolis to see and explore Egypt’s most iconic monuments, the famous pyramids and the Sphinx.

Following your visit to Giza, you will be taken for lunch at a good local restaurant, and then you will be driven to the ancient Saqqara necropolis which is about 30km from Cairo.

Like the Giza necropolis, this was also a royal burial ground. The structures here were all constructed long before the pyramids at Giza. This is also where you will be able to see the great Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser which was the first pyramid ever built by the ancient Egyptians.

After Saqqara you will then be driven back to your hotel in Cairo.

DAY 3 – Cairo Tour Sightseeing

Begin the 3rd day of your Cairo tour and luxury small boat Nile cruise itinerary with a good breakfast at your hotel. Check out after breakfast, and then you will be taken to visit the famous Egyptian Museum. Since there is so much to see at the museum, including its spectacular Treasures Room, you can expect to be at the museum until about lunchtime, at which point you will again be taken for lunch at a good local restaurant.

After lunch you will also visit the city’s famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar that dates back to 1382. After exploring this famous and much loved bazaar, you will then be driven back to your hotel and you will have the remainder of the day for yourself.

DAY 4 – Cruise Embarkation, Kom Ombo Temple and Overnight at Beshir Island

The time for your luxury small boat Nile cruise has arrived, so at the confirmed time, you will check out from your hotel and then you will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Aswan (included in tour price). When you land in Aswan, you will once again be met at the airport and then driving to the dock where you will board your beautiful Dahabiya river yacht at about 12:00 PM.

Once everyone is on board, it will then sail to Kom Ombo. Lunch will be served aboard the vessel during your cruise. On arrival at Kom Ombo, your guide will then take you to see the fascinating Kom Ombo Temple complex which is essentially two temples in one. One half of this complex was dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god, while the other half was dedicated to Horus the falcon-headed god.

Once everyone is back on board the boat, it will then sail to Beshir Island. Enjoy a delicious dinner in the evening, and spend the first night of your luxury small boat Nile cruise on the water near Beshir Island.

DAY 5 – Gebel el-Silsila Sightseeing and Overnight at Beshir Island

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a wonderfully relaxing morning aboard your Dahabiya while it is sailing towards Gebel el-Silsila. Enjoy guided tour at Gebel el-Silsila shortly after arrival, and then once you are back on the boat, it will begin sailing towards Fawaza Island.

Lunch will be served at the usual time while you are sailing. Enjoy a spectacular sunset in the evening, and then sit down to another delicious dinner. Spend this night of your luxury small boat Nile cruise on the water at Fawaza Island.

Day 6 – Edfu Temple, El Kab Temple and Overnight at El Hegz

Enjoy breakfast on your Dahabiya while sailing to Edfu. Shortly after you arrive at Edfu, your guide will take you to see Edfu Temple. Also known as the Temple of Horus, this is the best-preserved ancient temple in all of Egypt. After your tour, enjoy another good lunch while sailing peacefully towards El Kab Village.

Your Dahabiya will dock at El Kab Village and your guide will then take you to see the ancient El Kab Temple. After your tour, you will sail towards El Hegz Island near Esna. Have another good dinner out on the river while sailing, and enjoy this night of your luxury small boat Nile cruise on the water near El Hegz Island.

DAY 7 – Cruise Disembarkation, Luxor Tour, and Return to Cairo

Enjoy one last breakfast on board your beautiful Dahabiya, and then it will be time for you to check out and disembark. After disembarkation at Esna, you will then drive to Luxor and you will visit the ruins of the ancient Karnak Temple complex, and also Valley of the Kings.

Karnak was expanded and added to by numerous pharaohs over a period of more than 2,000 years. To this day, it is the largest place of worship ever built.

Valley of the Kings, on the other hand, is a huge ancient necropolis where pharaohs, nobles and other very prominent figures were laid to rest in tombs during the New Kingdom era. More than 60 tombs have been discovered here, with the most famous one being the tomb of King Tutankhamen.

After your tour, you will then be driven to Luxor Airport to board a flight back to Cairo. When you land in Cairo, your tour manager and one of our drivers will meet you, and then transfer you to the 5-Star hotel where you will be staying for the last night of you 8-day luxury small boat Nile cruise vacation.

DAY 8 – Luxury Small Boat Nile Cruise Itinerary Ends and Final Departure

Sadly, your Luxury Small Boat Nile Cruise itinerary has reached the end, but before you go anywhere, be sure to have one last breakfast in the Land of the Pharaohs. Your tour manager and a driver will meet you at the hotel at the appropriate time, and then they will transfer you to the airport in time for you catch your flight back home.

Your Cairo and Dahabiya cruise adventure has ended, but you will be boarding your flight home with lifelong memories guaranteed.
