5 Day Oberoi Philae Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor

Day 1 – Luxury Nile Cruiser Embarkation and Aswan Motor Boat Excursion
When you arrive in Aswan, either at the airport or the railway station, we will have one of our friendly tour managers waiting there to meet and greet you, and to assist you in any way they can. They will then escort you in a modern air-conditioned vehicle to a private docking area at Aswan Port where you will be boarding the luxurious 5-Star Oberoi Philae river cruiser for your 5-Day luxury Nile cruise.
Embarkation is scheduled for 12h00, and at 12h30 you will get to enjoy your first outstanding onboard lunch which will be served in the ship’s stylish and elegantly decorated dining area. After you have finished eating lunch, you will have some free time to settle into your luxury cabin or to begin enjoying the vessel’s many world class amenities.
At 16h00 you will be asked to disembark, and you will then board a nice modern motor boat which will whisk you away to visit Aswan’s fascinating Nubian Museum. Following your visit to the museum, you will transfer back to Aswan Port, and you will once again board the cruise liner.
Dinner will be served on board from 19h30 onwards, and you will spend the first night aboard your luxury Nile cruiser on the river at Aswan.

Day 2 – Sunrise Tour and Sightseeing Cruise to Kom Ombo and Edfu
Today begins with an unforgettable experience which is unique to this particular Oberoi Philae Nile cruise package.
Wake up and start your day with some tea and coffee served with cookies at 06h00, and then disembark for a private sunrise visit to the ancient Philae Temple and the Aswan High Dam. Any visit to Philae Temple is a magical experience, but visiting the site just as the sun is rising makes it more special than you could ever imagine.
After your unique sunrise excursion, you will return to the Oberoi Philae, where a hearty onboard breakfast will be served between 09h00 and 10h00 while the vessel is cruising to Kom Ombo.
After breakfast, you will have some free time to enjoy the Philae’s many amenities, and at 13h00 you will disembark for a visit to Kom Ombo Temple, also known as the Temple of Sobek and Haeroris, the two ancient gods to which this magnificent temple was devoted to.
After you have had time to explore this intriguing twin-temple complex, you will be transferred back to the Oberoi Philae in time for a delicious onboard lunch which the crew will begin serving at 14h00, just as the vessel starts cruising towards Edfu. You can then spend the remainder of the afternoon doing as you wish, with afternoon tea being served at 15h00.
At 19h00 you will be invited to join a short but enjoyable Cocktail Reception party, complete with some entertainment, and then at 20h00 the crew will begin serving dinner. After dinner, you have the rest of the night to yourself. Tonight will be spent aboard your Nile cruiser on the river at Edfu.

Day 3 – Temple Visit in Edfu and Cruise along the Nile to Luxor
Wake up to a delicious breakfast which will be served from 07h00 onwards, and the at 09h00 you will disembark, and you will be taken to visit Egypt’s best-preserved temple of the ancient world, the Temple of Horus, the falcon god. After you have spent some time exploring this magnificent site, you will return to your cruise liner, and it will begin sailing towards Esna.
Enjoy some quality leisure time, and then sit down to another fabulous lunch which will be served from 13h00 onwards. The Oberoi Philae will be passing through the Esna Lock, and then it will continue on its way to Luxor, where you will be enjoying another 5-Star dinner and a luxuriously comfortable night’s sleep on the quiet waters of the Nile.

Day 4 – Luxor Sightseeing Tours
With a plenty of magical sightseeing to be done today, breakfast will be served a little bit earlier than usual, this time from 06h00 to 07h00. You and the other members of your group will then disembark, and you will be going to visit some of the world’s most significant historical attractions.
First, you will head to the West Bank of Thebes, the ancient capital of Egypt. Here you will visit Valley of the Kings, an experience which will live with until the day you die. More than 70 ancient royal tombs have been discovered in this area, including the tomb of King Ramses VI, and the tomb of King Tutankhamen.
Many of these tombs had been looted long before they were rediscovered. However, this was not the case with King Tutankhamen’s tomb. When archeologists entered his tomb for the first time, they discovered both his mummy and a vast collection of treasure and artifacts.
Next, you will visit the ancient Temple of Medinet Habu, and then Deir El Medina, an ancient village that was once home to all the craftsmen to built and decorated the royal tombs you saw at the Valley of the Kings. Finally, you will start making your way back to the Nile cruiser for a 12h00 lunch, stopping briefly along the way to visit the Colossi of Memnon.
After enjoying a wonderful lunch on board, you will have until 17h00 to enjoy the Oberoi Philae’s amenities. Treat yourself to a luxurious spa treatment; soak up some sun on the vessel’s spacious sundeck; swim in the open-air pool, or simply relax as you take in the world around you.
At 17h00 you will disembark for a wonderful early-evening visit to the spectacular Luxor Temple, returning to the cruise liner at around 18h30. Enjoy another fantastic onboard dinner, and enjoy your last night of your cruise aboard your luxury Nile cruiser on the water at Luxor.

Day 5 – Luxor East Bank Visit and Oberoi Philae Disembarkation
Breakfast will be served in the ship’s dining are from 07h00 to 08h00 today, and then you will disembark for a trip to the East Bank where you will visit the ancient Karnak Temple complex. Unfortunately, after you have finished exploring this amazing site, it will be time to return to the Oberoi Philae so that everyone can collect their belongings, and disembark for the last time.
When you disembark with your bags, one of our tour managers will once again be waiting for you, and they will then escort you to Luxor Airport for your onward journey.
