8-Day Nebyt Dahabiya Round Trip Nile Cruise

Day 1: Nebyt Dahabiya Embarkation and Luxor Sightseeing Tour

Besides checking-in on board the Nebyt Daabiya for your cruise, you will also get to enjoy some amazing sightseeing today. Your first taste of Ancient Egypt will be a trip to Luxor’s West Bank to see the Valley of Kings, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon.

The Valley of the Kings is an area that served as a royal cemetery for rulers and nobles of what was then the New Kingdom.  There are more than 60 ancient tombs here, including that of King Tutankhamen.

Later in the day, we will also take you to see the ruins of Luxor Temple.

After visiting Luxor Temple you will head back to your Dahabiya and you will have some free time for relaxing before dinner is served. The first night of your Nebyt Dahabiya cruise will be spent on the water at Luxor.

Day 2: Karnak Temple Complex and Sail to El Hegz Island

After breakfast your guide will accompany you on an excursion to see Karnak which was once a sprawling temple complex. Each ruling pharaoh added to the complex, so it essentially took more than 2,000 years to complete.

After you visit to Karnak you will have the remainder of the day for yourself while your Dahabiya sails to El Hegz Island. This night of your cruise will be spent on board the Nebyt Dahabiya which will drop anchor near the island.

Day 3: Temple of Horus and sail to Gebel Silsela

The Nebyt Dahabiya will make an early start today and it will sail to Edfu. When you arrive in Edfu there will be a horse-drawn carriage waiting to take you for a ride through the busy and bustling village to see the Temple of Horus. This is the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt and also one of the biggest.

When you are finished at the temple you will be transferred back to the Nebyt Dahabiya and then it will start sailing towards Gebel Silsela. This will be a very relaxing and very scenic part of the journey. Just before sunset, your Dahabiya will drop anchor near Gebel Silsela where you will enjoy another peaceful night on the water.

Day 4: Gebel Silsela and Sail to Mainha Island

Shortly after breakfast today, your guide will accompany you on a visit to the ancient Pharaonic quarries of Silsela and an unknown rock-cut Temple of Hormoheb. From there, you will make your way to the top of a nearby hill (Gebel Silsela) to enjoy some spectacular views before return to your Dahabiya river yacht.

Once you and the other passengers are back on board the vessel it will slowly sail slowly to a small island in the Nile known as Mainha Island where it will drop anchor for the night.

Day 5: Kom Ombo Sightseeing, Darau Visit and Sail to Aswan

This morning the Nebyt Dahabiya will once again make an early start and will sail to Kom Ombo. When you get to Kom Ombo your guide with take you to see Kom Ombo Temple. This complex is unique because it was the only twin temple ever built by the Ancient Egyptian. It is essentially two identical temples in one. One was dedicated to Horus the falcon-headed god and the other was dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god.

After visiting the temple you will sail distance to Daraw which is located in the south of Kom Ombo. The most fascinating aspect of the town is its camel market. Depending on when you visit, you may see as many as 2,000 camels. Finally, the Nebyt Dahabiya will sail to Aswan where it will drop anchor for the night.

Day 6: Aswan Sightseeing and Begin Sailing to Luxor

Shortly after breakfast today, your guide will accompany you on another excursion. Today you will visit Aswan’s ancient Pharaonic quarries to see the massive Unfinished Obelisk. From here you will visit the Aswan High Dam for some spectacular views of Lake Nasser and the Nile River. Next, you will board a small motorboat which will take you to see the amazing Temple of Philae that was dedicated to the goddess, Isis.

Once everyone is back on board the Dahabiya, it will depart from Aswan and begin the journey back to Luxor.

Day 7: Sailing to Luxor

With plenty of sightseeing behind you, you now get to enjoy a thoroughly relaxing day on the water while the Nebyt Dahabiya sails to Luxor.

Day 8: Disembarkation and Departure

Enjoy a good breakfast as usual, and then it will be time for you to check-out and disembark from your cruise. Once you have done so, we will transfer you to Luxor Airport in time for your flight. We can also drop you at the train station or at a hotel of your choosing.
