Day 1 – Check-In Aboard the Sonesta Moon Goddess and Sightseeing in Luxor

Upon your arrival at Luxor airport or train station, one of our tour representatives will warmly welcome you. You will be escorted in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to the port, where you will board the luxurious 5-star Sonesta St. George river cruiser for your 5-day Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan.

After checking in, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch onboard before disembarking for your first sightseeing tour on Luxor’s East Bank.

Your East Bank excursion includes a visit to the grand Karnak Temple, an ancient complex of temples built and expanded over approximately 2,000 years. Following this, you will visit the magnificent Luxor Temple, another iconic site included in most Nile cruise itineraries.

After exploring these remarkable landmarks, you will return to the Sonesta Moon Goddess. Enjoy afternoon tea and an authentic Egyptian Belly Dancing show onboard. Later, a sumptuous dinner will be served, and the evening will offer an opportunity to dance the night away at the onboard disco. You’ll spend the night peacefully docked on the serene waters of Luxor.

Day 2 – West Bank Tour and Transit to Esna

Start your day with a delightful onboard breakfast before disembarking for an unforgettable tour of three iconic ancient sites on Luxor’s West Bank.

Your first stop will be the Valley of the Kings, an ancient royal necropolis where over 70 tombs, including the famous tomb of King Tutankhamun, have been unearthed. This remarkable site was famously excavated by Sir Howard Carter.

Next, you’ll visit the stunning rock-cut Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a masterpiece of ancient architecture, followed by a stop at the towering Colossi of Memnon, two majestic statues steeped in history.

After your morning of exploration, you’ll return to the boat just in time to enjoy a delicious onboard lunch as the Sonesta Moon Goddess begins its sail towards Esna. Along the way, relax with afternoon tea and join in the festivities at the Captain’s “Welcome Cocktail” party.

In the evening, a fine dinner will be served onboard, and you’ll have the option to unwind with a peaceful evening or head to the lively disco to dance the night away. You’ll spend this night on the tranquil waters near Esna.

Day 3 – Edfu and Kom Ombo Sightseeing

The Sonesta Moon Goddess begins the day with an early departure, allowing you to enjoy a delicious breakfast as the boat sails toward Edfu. Upon arrival, you will disembark to explore the remarkable Edfu Temple, one of the best-preserved temples from ancient Egypt.

After your visit, you’ll return to the boat, where lunch will be served as it continues its journey toward Kom Ombo. Later in the afternoon, enjoy some refreshing tea onboard before disembarking once again for a visit to the renowned Kom Ombo Temple, an extraordinary site dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haeroris.

Following your exploration, you’ll return to the Sonesta Moon Goddess for another delightful dinner. The evening’s entertainment will feature a lively and fun Egyptian Galabeya Party. You’ll spend the night peacefully docked on the water at Kom Ombo.

Day 4 – Transit to Aswan and Aswan Sightseeing

The Sonesta Moon Goddess will begin the day with an early departure from Kom Ombo, allowing you to enjoy breakfast as you sail toward Aswan.

The boat’s early arrival in Aswan ensures ample time for a morning of incredible sightseeing before lunch. Today’s excursion includes visits to the impressive Aswan High Dam, the fascinating Unfinished Obelisk, and the breathtaking Philae Temple, a must-see for anyone captivated by Ancient Egyptian history.

Following your tour, you’ll return to the boat to savor another delicious onboard lunch, accompanied by a relaxing afternoon tea. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

In the evening, indulge in a fine dinner onboard before being treated to a lively and traditional Nubian folkloric show. Spend the final night of your 5-day Luxor to Aswan Nile cruise on the tranquil waters of Aswan.

Day 5 – Check-Out and Disembarkation in Aswan

Nobody will blame if you wake up feeling a sense of sadness knowing that your Moon Goddess cruise is just about to come to an end. However, you will have had the time of your life, so why not sit back and enjoy one last breakfast on the beautiful goddess of the Nile before you disembark.

After you have finished your breakfast, it will be time for you to disembark and one of our friendly tour representatives will once again be standing by to meet you. They will then escort you in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, either to the airport; the railway station, or to your hotel in Aswan, depending on what your onward travel plans are. I’m sure they will also want to know if your 5 days on board the Sonesta owned Moon Goddess were everything you were hoping they would be, but after that, it will be time to bid you farewell.
