This astonishing ENESCO World Heritage Site was at risk of being lost forever to the rising waters of Lake Nasser following the completion of the High Dam. As a result, the entire complex was moved in its entirety to its present day location.
When this sightseeing tour is over, a delicious lunch will be served on board while the Sonesta Moon Goddess is sailing to Kom Ombo, where another spectacular sightseeing opportunity awaits you. Here you will disembark, and you will be taken to see the famous Kom Ombo Temple. Although this has always been seen as a single temple, it is in fact, two identical temples, with one being built as a mirror image of the other. The reason for this being that it was dedicated to two different mythical Gods: Sobek and Hathor.
