A breathtaking view of the Egyptian Pyramids of Giza

2-Day Trip to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada

Day 1: Cairo Sightseeing Tour and Overnight in Luxor

Our trips to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada begin at 05h30. This is when one of our Hurghada-based tour representatives will collect you from your hotel. You will then be transferred to Hurghada International Airport where you will board a short flight to Cairo.

Your flights from Hurghada to Cairo and from Cairo to Luxor are included in the price of our 2-day trips to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada.

When you land in Cairo, one of our Expert guides will be waiting for you at the airport. One of our drivers will also be waiting for outside in one of our clean and modern air-conditioned vehicles. Once you leave the airport, you will then be driven to Giza which lies on the outskirts of Cairo. Here you will visit the ancient Giza Necropolis.

The Giza Necropolis is of course home to Egypt’s most famous and most iconic ancient monuments: the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx. These are the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. The Sphinx, as well as the Valley Temple which you will also visit, also belonged to Pharaoh Chephren.

After spending the morning at the pyramids, you will then be taken for some lunch at a good quality local restaurant. Lunch is included in our 2-day trips to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada. When you have finished eating, you will then head to the spectacular new Grand Egyptian Museum.

The new Grand Egyptian Museum  at Giza has the world’s biggest and most valuable collection of ancient Egyptian relics. Nearly all of the artifacts, jewelry and treasures that were recovered from the tomb of King Tutankhamen are also on display in the museum. These are all displayed in thelr own area which is known as the Treasures Room. Admission to the Treasures Room is included in our 2-day trips to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada.

The new Grand Egyptian Museum is now the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilization, making it one of the top attractions in Egypt.

Following your visit to the museum, you will then head to Cairo’s famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar. This gigantic bazaar has been around since the 14th century. It is fair to say that no trip to Cairo is complete without a visit to this charismatic and vibrant bazaar. Enjoy some shopping and/or people watching, and then it will be time for your guide and driver to take you to the airport for your flight to Luxor.

Day 2: Luxor East and West Bank Tours and Return to Hurghada

The second day of our 2-day trips to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada involves plenty of sightseeing, so your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel at around breakfast time.

After you have checked out, you will then be taken to see the majestic Luxor Temple and the impressive Karnak Temple complex. Both of these are located on Luxor’s East Bank.

Although Karnak has mostly been destroyed by the elements, conflicts, and neglect, there is still so much to see. After all, this complex expanded constantly for over 2,000 years. It is thought to be the biggest place of worship ever built.

After your East Bank tour, you will be taken to a good quality local restaurant for some lunch. Once again, lunch is included in our 2-day trips to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada. Once you have finished eating, you will then visit three of the top ancient Luxor attractions on the West Bank.

First, you will enjoy a brief stop at the Colossi of Memnon. These are two giant statues of Amenhotep III.

Next, you will visit Valley of the Kings. This is a huge ancient burial ground where pharaohs and a few very privileged other people were entombed during the New Kingdom era. Some of the most famous tombs here include the tomb of Ramses VI and the tomb of King Tutankhamen.

Our 2-day trips to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada include admission to three tombs at the Valley of the Kings. However, our 2-day trips to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada do not include a ticket for the tomb of King Tutankhamen. A special ticket is required, and this can only be purchased in person at the site.

The last attraction featured in our 2-day trips to Cairo and Luxor from Hurghada is Hatshepsut Temple. This is a huge terraced complex that was carved out of the hillside. It served as a mortuary temple for Queen Hatshepsut, Ancient Egypt’s only true Egyptian female pharaoh.
