5-Day MS Esplanade Cruise

Day 1: Esplanade Embarkation – Nile Cruise Begins

Rest assured, when you arrive at Luxor airport or Luxor railway station for your 5 Day MS Esplanade Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan, you will be met by one of our tour representatives and one of our drivers, who will then take you to the area where you will be boarding your 5-Star Nile River cruise ship.

Shortly after boarding your beautifully appointed cruise ship, you will enjoy your first good on-board lunch, and then you will be taken for a tour on the Luxor East Bank along with some of our other clients. One of our Expert tour guides actually sales with the vessel, so you will always have an expert guide by your side when visiting the different sites you’ll be stopping at during your cruise.

During your Luxor East Bank tour you will be seeing two indescribable ancient monuments, Karnak Temple complex and Luxor Temple. Even though Karnak Temple is mostly ruins, there is so much to see at this vast archeological site which has been credited as being the largest place of worship ever discovered.

Following your Luxor East Bank tour, you will then return to the cruise ship in time for a very entertaining Egyptian Belly Dance Show. Later in the day you will you served a good dinner aboard the ship, and there will also be an on-board disco in the evening. You will be spending the first night of your cruise on the Nile at Luxor.

Day 2: Luxor West Bank Tour and Cruise to Esna

Begin the second day of your 5 Day MS Esplanade Nile Cruise with a good breakfast on the Nile, and then our Expert tour guide will take you and a few of our other clients for a tour of the Luxor West Bank to see three indescribable ancient sites.

These include Valley of the Kings, the mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon.

Of course, the most famous tomb in the Valley of the Kings that of King Tutankhamun, but he certainly wasn’t the only royal person to be buried in this ancient necropolis.

Following your Luxor West Bank tour, you will return to the ship, and it will then begin cruising towards Esna. Enjoy a good lunch and a pleasant afternoon tea on board the ship, followed by a “Captain’s Welcome” cocktail party in the evening shortly before dinner time.

Tonight there will once again be an on-board Disco, and you’ll be spending this night of your trip aboard the MS Esplanade cruise ship at Esna.

Day 3: Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple, and on to Aswan

The third day of your 5 Day MS Esplanade Nile Cruise will see you leaving Esna quite early in the morning, with breakfast being served out on the water while you are sailing along the Nile towards Edfu.

When you arrive at Edfu, your Expert tour guide will escort you and the other members of your small group to see the truly magnificent Temple of Horus. This is the best preserved temple ever discovered in Egypt, thanks to the fact that it became buried beneath the sand and remained that way for more than 2000 years after it was abandoned by the Romans.

After spending some time at the temple, you will then return to the cruise ship and it will begin sailing to Kom Ombo. Enjoy lunch and some afternoon tea while sailing on the Nile. On arrival at Kom Ombo, you will once again disembark from the Esplanade, and you will be taken to see the intriguing Kom Ombo Temple which was dedicated to two different gods. One half of the temple was dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god, while the other half of the temple was dedicated to Horus the falcon-headed god. Because this temple was dedicated to two different gods, both halves had to be identical to each other.

Following your visit to the temple, you will return to the Esplanade, and it will then sail to Aswan where you’ll be spending this night of your 5 Day MS Esplanade Nile Cruise on the water.

Day 4: Aswan Tour and Leisure Time

Wake up to another delightful breakfast on board the MS Esplanade, and then your Expert tour guide will be taking you for a relatively short tour in Aswan. During this tour you will get to see 3 famous sites in Aswan, including the Aswan High Dam, the indescribable ancient Temple of Philae, and the absolutely enormous Unfinished Obelisk.

Following your Aswan tour, you will return to the MS Esplanade in time for another good lunch, and then you will have the remainder of the day to yourself to enjoy as you wish. As usual, tea will be served on board the vessel in the afternoon, followed by another good dinner in the evening.

Tonight, there will be a very entertaining Nubian Folkloric Show on board the . Enjoy the last night of your 5 Day MS Esplanade Nile Cruise on the tranquil waters of the river at Aswan.

Day 5: Nile Cruise Ends with Felucca Ride and Departure

Sadly, this is the final day of your cruise, but before you disembark, first enjoy one last good breakfast on the Nile. After you have checked out and you’ve disembarked from your cruise, you will be taken to board a traditional felucca boat which will take you for a short ride on the Nile at Aswan so that you can enjoy a close-up view from the river of the Aga Khan Mausoleum.

After your felucca ride is over, you will then be driven to Aswan Airport or Aswan railway station depending on what your onward travel plans are. Once you arrive at the airport or the railway station, your 5 Day MS Esplanade Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan will officially be over, so it will be time for our tour representative to bid you farewell and wish you a safe and pleasant onward journey on behalf of all of us.
