The journey from Sharm El Sheikh to the monastery is approximately 220 km. Saint Catherine’s monastery is located between Moses Mount and the St. Catherine’s Mounts. It is the oldest surviving Christian monastery in the world. The monastery is owned, maintained, and run by the Greek Orthodox Church and is one of the most visited attractions in the Sinai region.

Once you enter the complex, you will be greeted by a truly magnificent citadel which is home to numerous structures, including a famous library. This library is famous for its vast collection of icons and manuscripts, and is second only to the Vatican City itself.
