15-Day Egypt and Morocco Itinerary
When your flight lands in Casablanca, a tour representative will be there meet you and to offer assistance, and then they will drive you to Rabat where you will be taken to check in at a good hotel. Our tour representative will confirm a pick-up time for the following day and then you will be left on your own at the hotel to enjoy the remainder of the first day of your Egypt and Morocco Itinerary as you wish. Begin the second day of your Egypt and Morocco Itinerary with a good breakfast at your hotel, and then it will be time for check-out because today you will be heading to Fez, but with plenty of sightseeing along the way. Much of the morning will be devoted to sightseeing in Rabat, including places such as Chellah and Kasbah Ouddaya, as well as the small souks and bazaars in the old medina. After your tour, you will be taken to the city’s very popular “Café Maure” where you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan Tea experience that includes mint tea and some authentic Moroccan snacks such as Kaab Ghazal and Ghariba. Once you are finished enjoying your tea, you will then start the journey to Meknes, but you will stop along the way at Volubilis to explore the ruins of what was once an ancient Roman city. Next, you will continue on to Meknes where you will be met by a profession local guide who will take you to see a number of fascinating attractions, including the famous gate of Bab El Mansour, and Lhri. After your tour, you will you will then drive on to Fez where you will check-in at another good hotel where you will be staying for the next two nights of your Egypt and Morocco Itinerary. Meals included: Breakfast and Moroccan Tea experience This day of your Egypt and Morocco itinerary is devoted to sightseeing in Fez, so shortly after you have had your breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel, and then you will be taken to see several of the city’s most popular attractions, including the Medieval Medina; the Attarine or Bou Anania madrassas; Nejjarine Fountain, Moulay Idriss Mausoleum and the Karaouyne Mosque. Later in the morning, you will visit the old Jewish quarter, and then you will attend a pottery workshop with a Moroccan pottery master. After the pottery workshop, you will be taken for lunch at a good local restaurant, and then once you have finished eating, you will be dropped off back at your hotel and you will have the remainder of the day to yourself to enjoy as you wish. Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch Today you will check out from your hotel shortly after breakfast, and then your guide and your driver will collect you, and then you will begin the drive to Marrakech which is approximately 485km away. Your road trip will also include stops at two lovely Berber villages called Imouzer and Ifrane, and then you will stop again when you reach Beni Mellal where you will be able to enjoy some lunch. After lunch, you will then complete the drive to Marrakech. You will only arrive in the later afternoon, so you will then be taken directly to the hotel where you will be staying for the next 3 nights of your Egypt and Morocco itinerary. Meals Included: Breakfast This day of your Egypt and Morocco itinerary is devoted to exploring the city Marrakech, Morocco’s “Pearl of the South”. Visit several of the top Marrakech tourist attractions in the morning, including Menara Garden; the Saadien Tombs; Bahia Palace; Koutoubia, and the Dar Si Said Museum. Around midday you will then be driven back to your hotel for lunch and a short break before heading back out for some more sightseeing. Most of the afternoon will be spent exploring the souks and handicraft quarters, and then you will enjoy a Koutchi ride to the famous Jamaa El Fna square. A Koutchi is a traditional Moroccan horse drawn carriage and arriving at the square on one makes for a wonderfully authentic experience. Jamaa El Fna is also one of the most popular attractions in all of Morocco. Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch There are no tours or activities scheduled for this day of your Egypt and Morocco itinerary, but instead, it has been reserved as a free day that you can enjoy as you wish. Meals Included: Breakfast Today, you will check-out shortly after breakfast, and then your driver will drive you to Casablanca. On arrival, you will meet up with a profession English speaking local guide who will then give you a guided tour of some of the city’s top attractions, including the wonderful Hassan II Mosque; the Corniche; the Habous Quarters, and the Royal Palace. The palace is not open to the public but you will still be able to take some great photos of the exterior. After your tour, your driver will then drive you to the hotel where you will be staying for your last night in Morocco. Meals Included: Breakfast The next phase of your Egypt and Morocco itinerary begins today, so at the appropriate time, you will need to check out from your hotel, and then our driver will transfer you to the airport in time for you to board your flight to Egypt. When you land at the airport in Cairo, your tour manager and one of our drivers will meet you, and then escort you to the hotel where you will be staying for the next two nights of your Egypt and Morocco itinerary. Once you have checked it at your hotel, your tour manager will confirm a pick-up time for the following day’s tour, and then you will be left on your own to enjoy the rest of the day as you wish. Meals Included: Breakfast and Welcome Drink After breakfast, your Egyptologist guide and your driver will fetch you from your hotel and take you to the Giza Necropolis to see the fabled Giza Pyramids (Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus) and the Great Sphinx. Once you are finished at the pyramids, you will then be taken for lunch at a good local restaurant, and then you will visit the Egyptian Museum and its famous Treasures Room of Tutankhamen. When you are finished exploring the museum, you will head to the lively Khan El Khalili Bazaar, which dates back to 1382 AD. Whether you intend doing any shopping or nor, this medieval bazaar one attraction in Cairo which every visitor to visit at least once. With the day’s sightseeing now over, you will be driven back to your hotel and you will have the rest of the day to yourself. Highly Recommended: Optional Sound and Lights Show at the Giza Pyramids complex in the evening. Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch Check out from your hotel after breakfast, and then you will be picked up and driven to the airport to board a short flight to Luxor where you will be met by one of our tour managers who will then take you for your Nile cruise embarkation. Lunch will be served aboard the ship shortly after boarding, and then one of our Egyptologist tour guides will take you and a small group of our other clients to see famous Luxor and Karnak Temples, both of which are located on the East Bank. Following your tour, you will return to the ship and you will have the rest of the day to yourself. This night of your Egypt and Morocco itinerary will be spend in your cabin on the water at Luxor. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Enjoy a good breakfast on the water, and then your guide will take you and the others in your group to see three more ancient sites, this this on the West Bank. Enjoy a visit to the ancient royal burial ground known as the Valley of the Kings. There are more than 60 tombs here, including the tomb of Pharaoh Ramses VI and King Tutankhamen. Your tour will also include a visit to the amazing rock-cut mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, as well as the Colossi of Memnon which you will visit on your way back to the ship. Lunch today will be served out on the river while you are sailing to Edfu. You will have this afternoon free for relaxing, and you will spend this night of your Morocco and Egypt itinerary on the water at Edfu. Optional: Enjoy a sunrise Hot Air Balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings and Luxor’s other ancient ruins and temples. Hot Air Balloon rides cost $129 per person. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner After breakfast, your guide will take you and the others in your group for a guided tour of Edfu Temple, also called the Temple of Horus. This is one of the biggest cult temples ever built by the ancient Egyptians, and also the best-preserved. Once everyone is back on board the ship, it will then sail to Kom Ombo where you will enjoy another tour, this time at the twin temples of Kom Ombo. Lunch will be served aboard the vessel after your tour while it is sailing to Aswan. There are no more tours today, so you will be free to enjoy the remainder of the day as you wish. Enjoy this night of your Egypt and Morocco itinerary aboard the ship at Aswan. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner After breakfast, you will enjoy another tour, this time in Aswan, during which you will be taken to see the extremely impressive Aswan High Dam; the massive Unfinished Obelisk, and the remarkable ancient Temple of Philae that was moved in its entirety to its current location in order to save it when Lake Nasser flooded due to the construction of the Aswan High Dam. After your tour, you will return to the ship in time for lunch, and then you will have the rest of day free to enjoy as you wish. Enjoy the last night of your cruise on the water at Aswan. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner After breakfast, you will check out and disembark, and then you will be driven to the airport in Aswan to board a flight back to Cairo. When you land in Cairo, you will again be met at the airport and then taken to the hotel where you will be staying for the last night of your incredible 15-Day Egypt and Morocco Itinerary. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel, or head out and do some exploring on your own in this vibrant city. Meals Included: Breakfast Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, and then at the appropriate time you will need to check out, and then your tour manager and your driver will transfer you to the airport in time for you to catch your flight out of Egypt.
