Centre Culturel Atlas Golf Marrakech – Museum of Astrology and Geology

Centre Culturel Atlas Golf Marrakech is often touted as being a museum which is dedicated to our understanding of the universe. However, a better way of describing it would be to call it a museum of astrology and geology. Because the theme of this museum does not appeal to everyone, we generally don’t include it in our Egypt and Morocco Tours unless we are asked to.

Of course, you may be wondering why anyone would want to visit such a museum when they Morocco, considering that you could almost certainly visit a similar sort of museum in your own country.

Admittedly, if you are going to travel all the way to Marrakech, you will no doubt want to visit the Marrakech tourist attractions which are typically more Moroccan than a place such as the Centre Culturel Atlas Golf Marrakech.

When most people think of Marrakech, they picture an old North African city where people still dress in traditional clothes; a place with bustling markets and souks where vendors and customers haggle of prices; a timeless city which is full of awe-inspiring historical monuments.

While this pretty much sums up Marrakech, it is worth remembering that in Marrakech, the old and the new tend to blend together in perfect harmony, and the Centre Culturel Atlas Golf Marrakech is no exception.

Marrakech is literally crammed full of wonderful museums and stunning botanical gardens when you can spend several days exploring. The city is also home to an unforgettable souk, and an even more unforgettable town square, but there are times when you just need a break from all the typical tourist attractions in Morocco, and at times like this, the Centre Culturel Atlas Golf Marrakech is a great place to visit.

With all of our Egypt and Morocco Tours being fully customizable, we can easily add a visit to this museum to any one of our tour itineraries if you want us to.

What to Expect at the Centre Culturel Atlas Golf Marrakech

If you are planning to visit the Centre Culturel Atlas Golf Marrakech, you will be pleased to know that this museum is nothing like what most people would assume. While it is dedicated to astrology and geology, it is also a place where you can kick back and relax for a while.

As you enter the museum, you are immediately greeted by a huge café which is home to several beautiful aquariums and a well-stocked library. The aquariums are home to a surprisingly large number of aquatic species, so if aquariums interest you or fascinate you, then don’t be surprised if you linger around this area far longer that you had originally intended.

It should also be mentioned that the interior of the museum is breathtakingly beautiful. The interior designer, Denis Morel, has made absolutely certain that from the minute you enter, your attention is directed towards the museum’s various themes which have been in line with the four elements of nature: Earth, Sky, Water, and fire.

Head up the stairs, and here you will find a vast collection of semi-precious stones; minerals; fossils; meteorites, and so much more, with many artifacts dating back millions of years. Interestingly, all these artifacts have been collected locally on Moroccan soil.
