Weather in Morocco

Morocco is a very popular holiday destination amongst people who want to escape the harsh cold winters in their own countries, and this includes countless Americans as well. The reason for this is because much of Morocco enjoys very pleasant weather all year round, and particularly along the country’s coastal regions.

As is to be expected, the further inland you travel, and the closer you get to the Sahara Desert, the warmer it gets. In places like Marrakech for example, daytime summer temperatures average around 38 degrees Celsius, whereas summer daytime temperatures in Agadir average around 20 degrees Celsius year round.

Moroccan Visa Requirements for US Citizens

Tanneries of Fes, Morocco, AfricaMorocco tour packages from USA are incredibly popular, and this is partly due to the fact that there is no red tape involved. American citizens who are travelling on an American passport can visit Morocco without a visa for a period not exceeding 90 days. As is always the case, your passport must remain valid for the duration of your stay.

If you want to stay in the country more than 90 days you will need to apply for a residency permit. These can be obtained from the police department which is nearest to the area where you are staying. This permit must be applied for before your original 90-day stay ends.

NOTE: If you are not travelling on an American passport, or a passport from issued by a country which is exempt from Moroccan visa requirements, you will need to apply for a visa in your country of residence, or at the nearest embassy or consulate to your country of residence.

Staying Safe While You Are In Morocco

As is so often the case with holiday destinations, people travelling to Morocco need to be vigilant when they visit very popular tourist attractions. While the risk of being mugged or attacked is very low, tourists do sometimes become victims of scams and etc. This is particularly true if you are strolling around places like the Medina in Marrakech.

A bit of common sense can go a long way in keeping yourself safe when you are travelling, not only in Morocco but in any strange and unfamiliar country. For example, women should not walk alone in very quite areas, and neither should they venture too far alone at night.

We highly recommend using a private guide/driver when you are touring in Morocco. They can make your stay in the country so much more enjoyable. There is also less risk of being scammed if you have a private guide with you, especially in the busy shopping areas.

NOTE: If you book Morocco tour packages from USA through us, you will mostly be in the company of a professional guide and/or driver.
