Itinerary

DAY 1 – New Year Nile Cruise Begins – Embarkation and Aswan Sightseeing

Regardless of whether you arrive in Aswan at the Airport, or whether you arrive at the train station, one of our friendly tour representatives will be there to meet and greet you. They will then escort you in a modern air-conditioned vehicle to the port where you will be boarding your 5-Star New Year Nile Cruise.

After you have checked in on board, you will be served lunch, and then you will disembark for a visit to see the massive Unfinished Obelisk. Next, you will enjoy a boat ride to visit to one of Aswan’s most impressive attractions, the ancient Temple of Philae.

After your boat ride and some time at the temple, you will then return to the ship and you will have the rest of the day to yourself. Dinner will be served on board the boat in the evening and this will be followed by some on-board entertainment.

DAY 2 – Kom Ombo and Edfu Tours & Overnight at Esna

Day two of your New Year Nile Cruise kicks off with an early departure from Aswan, so today you will be served breakfast while you are sailing towards Kom Ombo. On arrival, you will disembark for a visit to the Kom Ombo Crocodile Museum and Kom Ombu Temple, an impressive ancient temple that was constructed thousands of years ago in honor of the two mythical gods, Sobek and Haeroris.

Later, you will return to the boat for the onward journey to Edfu, where you will once again disembark, this time to visit the equally as ancient Temple of Horus. Following your Horus Temple visit, it will be time to return to the Mayfair for the journey to Esna. Enjoy afternoon tea leisure time while sailing, and another good dinner aboard the vessel in the evening. Tonight will be spent on board the ship on the water at Esna.

DAY 3 – Cruise to Luxor and Luxor East Bank Tour

This morning your boat will depart for Luxor, with a good breakfast being served along the way. Shortly after you arrive in Luxor, you will disembark for a visit to the East Bank to see the sprawling ruins of the ancient Karnak temple city and the impressive Luxor Temple. Following your tour, you will return to the ship in time for lunch, and then you will have the rest of the afternoon for yourself.

Enjoy afternoon tea and dinner at the usual times; some more nice entertainment in the evening, and enjoy the 3rd night of your New Year Nile Cruise on the water at Luxor.

DAY 4 – New Year Nile Cruise Disembarkation and West Bank Tour

Your New Year Nile cruise ends today, so once you have finished eating, you will have some free time for yourself, and then you will be checking out and disembarking, after which you will be taken to visit some famous ancient monuments on the West Bank. The three monuments which you will visit today are the Valley of Kings; the rocked carved Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. The Valley of Kings is home to more than 60 tombs and is one of the most visited attractions in the country, not least because it is home to the royal tomb of King Tutankhamen.

After exploring these fabulous West Bank sites you will then be taken to the airport or the railway station depending on what your onward travel plans are.
